Call for Submissions: Extended Abstracts for the One Health Summer School

One Health for Healthy Ageing and Sustainable Futures invites students and young professionals to contribute their innovative ideas and research by submitting an extended abstract on themes related to the One Health framework. Selected abstracts will be presented during the final day of the Summer School, providing participants an opportunity to showcase their work and receive feedback from experts in the field.

Submission Guidelines

Topics: Submissions should align with the themes of the Summer School, including but not limited to:

      • Public Health and Healthy Ageing
      • Veterinary Science and Zoonotic Diseases
      • Environmental Health and Sustainability
      • Interdisciplinary Approaches to Health Challenges
      • Policy Development and One Health Innovations

Eligibility:

      • Open to all registered participants of the One Health Summer School.

Format:

      • Length: 600–800 words
      • Structure: Title, Introduction, Methodology (if applicable), Findings or Key Ideas, Conclusion, and References
      • Formatting: Use a standard academic format (e.g., APA or MLA), 12pt font, double-spaced, in PDF format.

Submission Deadline: 1st May 2025

Submission Portal: Email your abstract to  [email protected]  with the subject line: “One Health Abstract Submission – [Your Name]”.

Evaluation Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of experts based on the following criteria:

Relevance (25%)

      • How well the submission aligns with the One Health framework and the themes of the Summer School.

Originality (25%)

      • The novelty and creativity of the proposed ideas or research.

Clarity and Structure (20%)

      • Clear presentation of ideas, logical flow, and adherence to submission guidelines.

Impact and Applicability (20%)

      • The potential of the abstract to address real-world challenges and contribute to the One Health discourse.

Quality of References (10%)

      • Appropriateness and credibility of sources cited in the abstract.

Awards and Recognition

  • ECTS Credit Incentive: Participants whose abstracts are accepted and presented will receive 1 additional ECTS credit, in addition to the credits earned for attending the Summer School. This recognizes and rewards your active engagement and academic contribution.
  • Top Submissions: Selected submissions will be presented on the final day of the Summer School, followed by a Q&A session with experts and peers.
  • Certificates: Participants with selected submissions will receive a certificate of recognition for their outstanding contribution.
  • Feedback: Detailed feedback from the evaluation panel to help refine ideas and promote academic growth.
